Guitarist Pablo Romero Luis offers passion and creativity through finesse and stability. He stands out both for his interpretation of Spanish music and for his musical gift. His versatility goes beyond the barriers of conventional classical repertoire, incorporating elements of flamenco, jazz and popular music idioms into his musical language. Concerts with this artist are something else. They are more direct, more open, more exciting; in short, his passion goes straight to the heart.

His flexibility as performer has allowed him to develop works with a wide variety of musicians. Currently Pablo Romero is part of the cast of Sara Calero dance company in “El mirar de la maja” and “Cosmogonía”. He was invited to collaborate with Madrid Royal Theatre in “Sueños y pesadillas de Wagner” and “Il Barbiere di Siviglia”. He has performed in festivals such as “Jerez Festival”, “Flamenco Festival Toulouse” (France), Teatro Massimo Bellini (Sicilia), Suzzane de la centre Tel Aviv (Israel) or “Flamenco Festival Russia” in Saint Petersburg (Russia). Some of his current projects are: “A dos guitarras”(classical-flamenco-brazilian guitar duo), “1881”(solo recital), “Canción lírica española”(tenor & guitar), “Mediterranean Guitar Quartet”, and “Bodas de Sangre”(music & drama).

He has been awarded the first prize in the “II International Guitar Competition Ángel Piñero”.

His interest in new music has led him to work with conductors and composers for the premiere of masterpieces for solo guitar or orchestra & guitar. For instance, the premiere of “Cari Frateli” by Sebastián Mariné.

In 2011, Romero Luis launched “Kasim”, his debut album, which featured a compilation of classical guitar works by Spanish and Latin American composers, two transcriptions of Albeniz’s piano works and two of his own compositions.

Apart from his role as performer and recording artist, Romero Luis is a teacher, arranger, transcriber and composer. He have been director of the guitar magazine “Sexto Orden” for seven years. He is co-author of a flamenco guitar method with Jose Deluna (Spanish Flamenco Guitar Society director). Moreover, today he’s immersed in his doctoral studies at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos of Madrid under the supervision of Dr. Paco Gómez.

He has continued his musical training from the classical tradition to other musical universes. He studies flamenco guitar with Jose Deluna and Jose Antonio Rodriguez and electric guitar and jazz with personalities such as Jose Antonio Loriente and Felix Santos.

Pablo Romero Luis began his studies of guitar at age seven with Fidel Garcia, a concert guitarist and professor at the municipal school of his hometown. Later, he studied with Claudio Schmidt at the Rodolfo Halffter Conservatory. In 2009, he obtained an undergraduate degree in guitar performance at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid, during which time he participated in numerous master classes with luminaries such as Jose Luis Rodrigo, Manuel Estevez and Jose Maria Gallardo. Pablo earned a degree in Guitar Pedagogy and a Master’s degree in Performance and Composition.
